Film Hailing Cesar is a documentary that highlights human rights activist, Cesar Chavez, who in the 1970s fought for the rights of farmworkers in the United States. This film captures Eduardo's personal journey in connecting with his grandfather's legacy through the eyes of those he affected. Furthermore, he brings to light the continued fight for labor rights, Latinx empowerment, activism, and social justice ongoing in the United States.
Cuyamaca College Hosts Eduardo Chavez
As the grandson of both the legendary civil rights activist Cesar Chavez and the Cuban revolutionary Max Lesnik, Eduardo Chavez is the scion of two revolutionary families. Eduardo's political and activist background influenced his feature documentary, "Hailing Cesar," released April 2018.
Oxy Arts | Panel Discussion
“Hailing Cesar" is a film that follows Eduardo Chavez’s journey to understand the legacy and struggle of his grandfather Cesar Chavez. The screening was followed by a panel discussion with director Eduardo Chavez, muralists John Zender Estrada, Daniel Cervantes and Pola Lopez, and scholar-artivist Brenda Perez.
